We hope our local pub is friendly and welcoming to all who visit us. we have been here, from London, just over 13 years and have about another 2 to go. we serve food every lunchtime and evening, all day sat and sun, good wholesome food, with a specials board as well. there is a play area for children, but new visitors with children please be aware that the river is a t the end of the garden. in the summer we have a bouncy castle and most children like to watch our budgies in the aviary.

There are two ploughs in Wittenham, make sure you know which you are commenting on. The Plough in the centre of the village is an old-style pub form the 1950s so don't expect to much from it. It is a good local with adequate and plentiful beer. If you are a member of the pointless middle classes, don't bother coming, leave your BMW behind, as you will be disappointed by the lack of balsamic vinegar. However, if you want a pint of heavy amongst characters in an old fashioned English local then it can be fun. Stop whingeing.

worst meal we've ever had, mind you it was cheap so I xpect you get what you pay for, don't think it was home cooked....straight out of tin foil I think, gannom very tough as well. Hence will not return.

Can't agree more with Drinker at Large, popped in at lunchtime to a very cool reception, no smile or greeting. The place stank of chip fat, and as for the Gents, how much does a bottle of bleach cost?
