'The Fox' said open all day on Saturday - Nah, shut and wouldnt let us in around 1730 hrs...
So - find a pub to get a quick pint... tried the North Star and had a very pleasant couple of pints - The Landlord and his wife made us very welcome. So good that we went back late in the evening. Very good beer, very nice couple. A bit of a quiet night, but then that was probably down to the awful weather. Suited us well for a good night!

Must have gone on a bad night. On the occasions i go its great, fantastic beer, good friendly company (I'm not local to it) and while it may have lost some of its original features(clash with JCB) its still got so much more olde world charm that most pubs in the area. Give it a go.
I have not seen any dog mess, althoug the dogs do roam the bars.
